On November 18, 2021, Conrad passed away in his sleep at naptime with no cause of death identified. What began as a typical weekday, ended in our worst nightmare as parents. Shortly after his passing, we were made aware of The Sudden Unexplained Death of a Child (SUDC) Foundation, which helped bring some comfort and information during our early days of grief. We continue to stay in contact with the foundation and attend their annual family retreat. Supporting the research SUDC does is paramount in the effort to identify the root cause of SUDC, so that no other family has to experience the loss of a child under these circumstances. The SUDC Foundation provides all services at no cost to the people it serves.
